Her stories challenge me to practice grace, especially toward Bush, and religion fundamentalists. Lamott actually put Bush's picture on her altar so she can practice forgiveness. Sooooo true. We do it to make ourselves feel better sooo many times. That's why reality shows are so popular now. We watch them and think "OMG, these people are stupid!" It makes us feel better about ourselves (or worse).
