Actually, most comment spam is generated by automated software, which are designed for a specific CSM like wordpress. Hence people use catchpas or other devices to prove that the commenter is human, not software. Take a look at other anti-spam plugins: http://wp-plugins.net/category/SpamFighting/

that stinks. what happened with the quote the next day? was that friday when you rewrote it the 2nd time? how annoying. the same with the spam. i mean, the only thing that makes me laugh is that it takes me 2 seconds to delete spam and it probably took them 10 minutes to write it. how sad that people have that much time on their hands!!!
